MANILA, Philippines—To plug the hole of Beau Belga’s absence in the PBA Philippine Cup, Rain or Shine has notched the services of big man Kris Porter.
The news was made official by coach Yeng Guiao after the Elasto Painters’ 109-99 win over Phoenix on Wednesday.
“He’s been practicing [with us] for a few days now. He used to be my player in NLEX. He knows me and I know him so I don’t think there will be a problem with him blending in the team,” said Guiao.

“We also want to have good-looking guys. Bawal ang pangit dito sa Rain or Shine, eh” the veteran coach added in jest.
Porter is reunited with Guiao being on the same side with the Road Warriors.
But Porter was shipped to Phoenix in a trade in 2022 in what ended up to be his last stint in the PBA before today.
On the same year, Guiao left his head coaching post for NLEX and has since returned to Rain or Shine.
Porter is set to officially debut with Elasto Painters on Wednesday when they face Terrafirma at Philsports Arena.
