They succeed David Massey, who confirmed his retirement as President and CEO, Arista Records, in April. News of David Massey’s retirement arrived seven years after he re-launched the legendary record label at Sony.
Clio Massey most recently served as General Manager for Work of Art Publishing and Vice President of A&R at Arista.
According to Sony, having started Work of Art Publishing from the beginning, Massey has led business operations and “the advancement of the company’s songwriters from various musical genres for over five years”. She will continue to oversee it.
D’Arduini, meanwhile, has been with Arista Records since its 2018 relaunch and was previously Executive Vice President of A&R.
Sony Music said on Tuesday (June 3) that D’Arduini has played an important role in working with acts across Arista globally and alongside Clio Massey to identify new and emerging artists.
Sony added on Tuesday that Arista Records has increased its roster over the last few years, “discovering and developing breakout talent” globally, including Måneskin, Damiano David, JP Saxe, Paul Russell, Lola Brooke, Jonah Kagen and Sunday (1994).
