After a stunning loss in 2023, Jhanlo Sangiao is returning to ONE Championship at Fight Night 33.
Sangiao, who fell to Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu in his last outing, is set to face Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg on July 12 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, as he looks to regain ground in the bantamweight division.
“I’m excited. I’m gonna come in here more prepared than ever before,” said the Team Lakay standout, son of coach Mark Sangiao.
“I’m used to facing strikers, strikers who I love taking to the ground. Shine is one of those strikers, and I plan on exploiting his holes on the ground.”
The loss to Baatarkhuu was Sangiao’s first in ONE Championship, bringing his record to 6-1. He now looks to bounce back and avoid a second straight defeat against Zoltsetseg, who holds a 7-5 slate.
Like Sangiao, Zoltsetseg is also coming off a loss, having fallen to Kwon Won Il last year.
The Filipino submission specialist and the Mongolian striker will collide in a crucial bout for both fighters’ hopes of climbing the bantamweight ladder.
