Chandler Parsons Reveals What Knicks Should Do With Karl-Anthony Towns

Will he stay or will he go?

That is what everyone is asking about Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks.

After the team’s disappointing exit from the playoffs, some fans feel that it’s time for Towns to leave New York.

But Chandler Parsons doesn’t think that’s the case.

Speaking on “Run It Back,” via ClutchPoints, Parsons said the Knicks should stand by Towns.

“You keep [Karl-Anthony Towns] and realize that he’s one of the best bigs in the NBA. [Nikola] Jokic isn’t the greatest defender. Luka [Doncic] isn’t the greatest defender. Jalen Brunson’s not the greatest defender. You pair guys like OG [Anunoby], like [Mikal] Bridges, you find other guys to make that engine in that team go. KAT is a rare talent. You don’t do anything from him besides show him things he can clean up,” Parsons said.

Parsons admitted that Towns has his downsides, notably the number of unnecessary fouls that he picks up.

But he feels that Towns is the right sort of player to put next to Jalen Brunson, whom Knicks fans passionately love.

He can get better, and the team needs more support, but Towns shouldn’t be counted out because he had one season filled with some ups and downs.

Knicks fans aren’t pleased with his defensive work, and they want to see more from him.

Towns obviously isn’t happy with how the season ended either, so he might spend this summer perfecting his game and demanding more from himself.

The Knicks put in a lot of work to get Towns, so it’s unlikely that they will cut and run after one season, especially when he did bring a lot to the team.

But with the firing of head coach Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks are showing they are ready to take the next step and will do anything to make that happen.
