Julian Palmer joins UMPG UK as Senior Director, A&R and Catalogue

Universal Music Publishing Group UK has appointed Julian Palmer as Senior Director, A&R and Catalogue.

According to UMPG, in his new position, Palmer will “act as a bridge between the core and catalog roster.”

Palmer’s appointment follows the recent promotion of David Gray to Managing Director, UK and Head of Global A&R for Universal Music Publishing Group.

Palmer succeeded UMPG’s long-time UK MD Mike McCormack, who stepped down from his role to establish a consultancy and form a joint venture with UMPG.

Palmer joins UMPG after 12 years at Columbia Records, where he worked with artists like Katy B, Snakehips, Shift K3Y, MK, and Rag N Bone Man.

“I’m honored to be joining UMPG, and an A&R team that Pete Simmons has built with an abundance of elite experience and vibrant youthfulness – and even more so now under David Gray with his understanding, love, and knowledge of British music.”
