The NBA is aware that fans aren’t pleased with the current state of the All-Star Game, and they are looking to make changes.
They have been tweaking the format for the last few years, and nothing seems to stick, so what’s next?
Appearing on “Breakfast Ball,” commissioner Adam Silver said next year’s All-Star weekend will feature a USA versus the world game, just as some fans have demanded.
“What better time to feature some form of USA against the world [during the All-Star Game]. I’m not exactly sure what the format will be yet. I paid a lot of attention to what the NHL did, which was a huge success,” Silver said.

For the first time in years, the All-Star Game will be aired on NBC.
After decades away on TNT, the league has a new media package deal with NBC, and the channel is excited to air the special event again.
The All-Star Game will be held during the middle of the Winter Olympics, which Silver says is a perfect time for international players to battle against Americans.
But he admits that there are a lot of moving pieces right now, and nothing is set in stone.
However, it’s clear that Silver and his staff are committed to making this happen, and now people just have to wait for more details.
Is this the fix the All-Star Game needs?
Will it get people excited about the annual event again, or will they still have problems with it?
The last several years have been a low point for the All-Star Game, and people just don’t seem to care about it anymore.
The USA versus the world concept sounds exciting, but there is no guarantee that it’ll fix everything ailing the league’s big once-a-year game.
