Shaun Livingston Says 1 NBA Finals Team Reminds Him Of Warriors

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers are about to face off in the NBA Finals.

As noted by some basketball fans, this could be the start of a dynasty for either team.

While speaking with NBC Sports, former Golden State Warriors player Shaun Livingston talked about the Thunder and said they remind him of the 2014-15 Warriors.

“[The Oklahoma City Thunder] remind me of [the Warriors’] first year, you know, and the way that they’re connected and also defensively the way that they can just really bite down and lock into guys, 1 through 5,” Livingston told Monte Poole.

That 2014-15 team was something special and a group that is remembered fondly ten years later.

They were great on both ends of the court, capable of shooting from just about anywhere but also powerful enough to shut down all types of opponents.

That was enough to earn a championship at the end of the season.

The same fate might be waiting for the Thunder right now, because they have taken the blueprint laid out by the 2014-15 Warriors and built upon it.

Their offense is absolutely lights-out, but their defense is smothering, too.

This is going to make life really hard for the Pacers, who will also bring a lot to the table with their shooting and guarding.

The NBA is going to crown its seventh different champion in seven years this season, meaning that it’s never been harder to build a dynasty.

But Livingston is seeing things in this current Thunder team that remind him of the squad he was a part of.

Do they have what it takes to not only win a championship this year but for years to come?
