Patrick Beverley Has Strong Opinion About Blake Griffin’s Case For HOF

Lately, there has been discussion about Blake Griffin entering the NBA Hall of Fame someday.

Certain fans feel he is a shoo-in, while others aren’t so sure if he qualifies.

Patrick Beverley has his own opinion, and it is sure to anger Griffin fans.

Beverley recently talked about Griffin in the Hall of Fame, and he doesn’t see it happening and doesn’t understand why it would.

“People talk about Blake Griffin being in the Hall of Fame, and I’m looking like, how? No discredit to Blake Griffin, but I’m looking like, how? I took the Clippers to the Western Conference Finals for the first time ever. Like, if I would’ve dunked more, does that mean I would’ve made the Hall of Fame?” Beverley said of Griffin, per NBACentral.

The numbers tell the tale of someone who was incredible in his prime.

Griffin was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2009 but missed all of his first season because of an injury.

Following that, he put up 22.5 points and 12.1 rebounds in 2010-11, earning Rookie of the Year and creating the “Lob City” era in Los Angeles.

His career average ended up being 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds, and Griffin played for the Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and finally the Boston Celtics.

He gained a number of accolades and was named an All-Star six times, although he never became a champion.

He left his mark on the league, but did he do enough to become a Hall of Famer?

Beverley doesn’t think so, and he isn’t afraid of saying it.

But just because Beverley doesn’t see it doesn’t mean Griffin is out of the running.

He is still beloved and has a career others would die for, so there is a strong chance he gets inducted.
