Chase Briscoe wins pole for FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan

For the third consecutive week, Chase Briscoe will lead the field to the green flag in a NASCAR Cup Series race.

With a lap of 36.826 seconds and an average speed of 195.514 miles per hour around the two-mile oval, Briscoe put himself on the pole position for Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400. His pole-winning lap is the best in terms of average speed in the Next-Gen era.

“I was surprised that I held on,” Briscoe told Prime Video. “It’ll be nice to start up front. Hopefully third time is the charm and we can get one on Sunday.”

The pole is Briscoe’s fourth of 2025, as he also started first at the Daytona 500, the Coke 600 and at Nashville one week ago.

Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, William Byron and Kyle Larson rounded out the top-five, with Chris Buescher, Josh Berry, Ty Gibbs, Bubba Wallace and Zane Smith completing the top-10.

Other notable qualifiers included defending Michigan winner Tyler Reddick in 12th, Nashville winner Ryan Blaney in 13th, Portage, Mich., native Carson Hocevar in 14th, Coke 600 winner Ross Chastain in 20th and Christopher Bell in 25th.

The FireKeepers Casino 400 will go green shortly after 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on Prime Video, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Pre-race coverage will begin at 1:30 p.m. ET on Prime Video and at 1 p.m. ET on MRN.
