MANILA, Philippines — Jean Asis vows to repay the Galeries Tower’s trust as the second overall pick of the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft on Sunday evening at Novotel.
After Capital1 drafted the top prospect and three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen, the HighRisers stuck to their goal of selecting the best middle blocker available in Asis, who shone in the Draft Combine scrimmages and had an impressive career at Far Eastern University.

“I’m super happy. There were a lot of talented players [in this draft], but I was given the chance to be the second overall pick. I’m really thankful to the Galeries coaches for trusting me with this position,” Asis told the reporters in Filipino.
“As a way to give back, I’ll do my best in training and the upcoming games.”
Asis believes that getting the opportunity to showcase her talent in the two-day Draft Combine at Paco Arena led to her moment to be drafted second among the 57 hopefuls.
“The combine really helped, because that’s where you get to show how you perform. I just showed how I play, and I think that helped the coaches see my true potential,” she said.

It won’t be easy for the 5-foot-10 middle blocker, but she will do her best to make an immediate impact and prove herself worthy of the second overall pick.
“I’ve gained experience from my time with FEU, from eighth place [in Season 84] to [back-to-back] Final Four, so now I want to help Galeries improve their standing in the PVL,” said Asis.
Asis will be joining Galeries fresh from its first PVL playoffs in the All-Filipino Conference, teaming up with last year’s third overall pick and Alas setter Julia Coronel, Jewel Encarnacion, France Ronquillo, and Ysa Jimenez.
Galeries also drafted Winnie Bedaña of the University of Perpetual Help in the second round before deciding to pass in the third.
