Adam Silver Gives Major Update About NBA Finals On-Court Decals

Millions of NBA fans are tuning in for the Finals right now, and many of them have complaints.

One of the biggest criticisms about this year’s championship series is the design of the court.

People are stating that they wish the NBA would still have an image of the Larry O’Brien trophy at the center of the court.

Commissioner Adam Silver has heard those complaints and commented on them.

“I’ve seen some of the chatter on social media on on-court decals. People don’t realize, they went away a decade ago because they were slippery when we had the decals on the floor, so we’re back to adding them virtually,” Silver said, via Front Office Sports.

That is certainly a problem because Silver doesn’t want NBA players to be slipping as they run up and down the court trying to score.

But the fans really want to see this change.

It might not happen this year because the Finals have already started, but perhaps Silver will make an official adjustment by next season.

After the internet blew up with people demanding the trophy image on the hardwood, the NBA digitally placed it on the court for Game 2.

That received a large response, with a lot of people mocking the league for attempting to fix the issue but only making it worse.

Silver listens to the fans often, but he doesn’t always change as promptly as they would like.

The outcry about this on-court design is loud and hard to avoid, so Silver will have to do something – but when?
