The New York Jets selected wide receiver Garrett Wilson with a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Since then, he has played in every game and caught at least 83 passes in each season, including a career-high 101 receptions in 2024.
It’s remarkable to think that he has done so well despite a shaky quarterback situation.
Now, with another new QB, Wilson may be even better this year.

Hughes stated that this is the best he’s seen Wilson in his career and that the Jets are working on creative ways to use him in the offense.
The issue now becomes how well new quarterback Justin Fields can get Wilson the ball.
As a rookie in 2022, Zach Wilson, Mike White and Joe Flacco split starting duties, and Wilson caught 83 passes.
In 2023, Aaron Rodgers was behind center for four plays before an Achilles injury led to Wilson taking over the rest of the way.
The result was 95 receptions for Wilson.
Last season, Rodgers returned and played the entire season, and Wilson made 101 receptions.
Meanwhile, Fields has had a rough NFL career, spending three years with the Chicago Bears before playing last season for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fields’ best season was in 2023, when he passed for 2,562 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions, with 657 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
With Wilson, his former teammate at Ohio State, lined up as a legitimate threat, Fields might experience his best NFL season yet.
