Stephen Jackson Names His 2 Potential Candidates For Knicks’ Coaching Job

The search for a new head coach for the New York Knicks continues, and it’s not entirely clear which direction the team is headed.

They have already attempted to interview a few candidates and were denied, so they are continuing to look.

Speaking with All the Smoke Productions, Stephen Jackson listed the two people he thinks are right for the job.

“Sam [Cassell] paid his dues. Won a chip as a coach. I’m always rooting for Sam, but if I had to pick one who I just feel like would be an educated guess because where they’re at right now, they need a coach that can come in and take them to another level, I think the only guy is Mark Jackson. If it ain’t going to be Sam Cassell, it needs to be Mark Jackson,” Jackson said.

This isn’t the first time someone has mentioned Jackson for the big job.

Cassell has also been spoken about as a perfect choice for the Knicks.

Currently, Cassell is an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics and has previously worked for the Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers.

As for Jackson, he was the man who positioned the Golden State Warriors for their dynasty run and led the team right before Steve Kerr took over.

Both of these men would bring a lot to the Knicks, but no one knows how much interest the team has in them.

There are other names floating around, and more will probably emerge as the search goes on.

Will it be Cassell, Jackson, or someone else?

The only thing everyone knows is that a choice is coming soon.
