Tony Khan has just announced a major last-minute change to one of the matches tonight at AEW Summer Blockbuster. This will feature a major high-flyer coming in as backup for one of the highly anticipated contests.
Earlier tonight, it was revealed that The Hurt Syndicate took out one of their opponents for the scheduled trios match at the show. They attacked Komander, unmasked him, and left him lying backstage.
Tony Khan has announced that Máscara Dorada will be joining “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight for the trios match against MJF, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin.
“TONIGHT #AEWSummerBlockbuster @The_MJF + World Tag Team Champions @Sheltyb803 @fightbobby w/ @The305MVP vs @Jet2Flyy @SpeedballBailey @MascaraDoradMD After Hurt Syndicate’s attack on Komander backstage,now Mascara Dorada will join JetSpeed to fight Bobby/Shelton/MJF TONIGHT!”

The luchador will be a great replacement, as he has proven that he can bring the fight to several names on the roster. They have a tall task ahead as they are taking on a former AEW World Champion and the current Tag Team Champions tonight at Summer Blockbuster.
It remains to be seen whether The Hurt Syndicate’s plan paid off or if Máscara Dorada’s involvement will come back to haunt them.
