The Jacksonville Jaguars may have landed the next big thing in football.
For most of the pre-draft process, Travis Hunter drew the highest grade in his class, and most experts agreed that he was the best player about to enter the league.
Nevertheless, as promising as he is, he’s a rookie nonetheless.
That’s why his Madden video game rating is less than flattering.
The game gave him a 76 rating, which is far below his potential.
Hunter, however, is unbothered by that.
“That’s a Madden rating, that’s it,” Hunter said, via Dov Kleiman. “I’m not worried about a Madden rating right now. I’m worried about playing football.”
Leader: Travis Hunter does NOT care that his Madden rating is a 76 overall:

Hunter did a great job of shutting down the outside noise for most of his college career, and he’s not going to change that approach now that he’s in the NFL.
As promising as he is, he’s going to have to earn his stripes just like everybody else.
He’s projected to play on both sides of the ball, and as the best wide receiver and cornerback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him drive up his Madden rating after just a couple of weeks.
Whatever the case, he knows it will be meaningless unless he’s helping the Jaguars win games.
They gave up a lot to trade up and get him at No. 2 overall, and he’s embracing that responsibility.
