Travel delays are already having an effect on NASCAR’s race weekend in Mexico City. 

With drivers, teams and other NASCAR personnel attempting to fly to Mexico City on Thursday, travel issues have popped up and will affect the weekend schedule for on-track activity. 

Mechanical issues with a plane carrying NASCAR personnel forced NASCAR to try to find a plane for those individuals that was authorized to fly across the border. According to reporter Matt Weaver, those who were on the plane that suffered the mechanical issue were told by NASCAR to return to their homes or their race shop.
