The Las Vegas Aces will have to bust out of their slump without the help of their best player.
Superstar centre A’ja Wilson has been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Dallas Wings after being placed in concussion protocol, according to ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.
Wilson suffered the injury in Wednesday’s 97-89 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. She exited the game in the third quarter after being hit in the head by Sparks forward Dearica Hamby while attempting a block.
She remained in the game for a few minutes following the collision, but was promptly removed and taken back to the team’s locker room.
Wilson, a three-time MVP, has continued her all-world play this season, averaging 20.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 2.6 blocks per game while playing 32.0 minutes a night.
However, her individual accolades haven’t translated into success for the Aces this season, as they sit 4-4 on the year and are coming off back-to-back losses to the Sparks and Golden State Valkyries.
