Mercy For None Season 2: Cast, Rumours & Release Date

Only a week after its Netflix debut, Korean noir thriller Mercy for None is already making waves. With 4.9 million views, it’s currently the number 2 non-English show on the platform, proving that gripping series will always be a big draw.

Mercy for None clocks in at seven episodes, which makes it the perfect watch for a lazy weekend. It tells a tale of dark revenge and delivers both action and intensity. In other words, it keeps viewers coming back for more. But will there be a sequel?

Mercy For None Season 2 Release Date

At the time of writing, Netflix hasn’t renewed Mercy for None for more episodes. Additionally, the show is advertised as a limited series, so this is probably all we get. Based on its violent ending, too, chances are slim.

That said, not all hope is lost. The streaming service has previously expanded the run of shows that were initially dubbed “limited”, proving that viewers’ interest plays a huge part in how they make these types of decisions.

If they do it again, Mercy For None Season 2 would probably arrive sometime in 2027.

Mercy For None Cast

  • So Ji-seob as Nam Gi-jun
  • Huh Joon-ho as Lee Joo-woon
  • Ahn Kil-kang Gu Bong-san
  • Lee Beom-soo as Sim Sung-won
  • Gong Myung as Gu Jun-mo

What Could Happen in Mercy For None Season 2?

A tight revenge K-drama, Mercy For None revolves around Nam Gi-jun, a former enforcer who left gang life behind years prior. When his younger brother is murdered, he jumps right back into the action to make those responsible pay.

The show follows Gi-jun as he looks into his brother’s death and embarks on a quest for revenge. This involves navigating the underworld, dominated by two rival gangs. While the series doesn’t win many bonus points for originality, the fight choreography is eye-catching, and the performances are good.

By the end of the seven episodes, viewers are left with a bittersweet conclusion. Gi-jun sees his mission through, but has to pay a mighty price for his actions.

A potential Mercy For None Season 2 could act as a prequel, focusing on Gi-jun’s gang days. Otherwise, we don’t really see how the present story could continue in a satisfying manner.

Are There Other Shows Like Mercy For None?

If you’re into Mercy For None, there’s a good chance you like shows with slick action. You might also be into Weak Hero, My Name, A Shop For Killers, The Worst of Evil, and Gangs of London.
