Iran and Israel exchange fresh strikes as conflict escalates

Israel and Iran launched a fresh wave of missile strikes against each other, as the conflict between the two countries escalated.

The Israel Defense Forces said a second round of missiles launched from Iran were heading towards Israel. The military had worked to intercept the first wave late on Saturday, where explosions were seen in the skies over Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Paramedics said that 14 people were injured in a strike on a house in the north of Israel after Iran fired a barrage of missiles towards Haifa, one of the country’s most important ports.

The IDF said it had attacked military targets in Tehran, including the headquarters of the Iranian defence ministry. Israeli strikes also targeted oil and fuel depots, state media said.
