Current LA Lakers star LeBron James is 40 years old and in the twilight of his career.
Although it’s obvious he can still play and keep up with the young bucks, there are the inevitable questions about when he will retire.
That question has arisen in the past few seasons and won’t stop until James actually makes the announcement himself.
Apparently, that particular announcement was on his mind in a recent video posted by King James and shared via Yahoo Sports.
“Are the retirement rumors true? What’s next?” the reporter on the video asked.

In the brief clip, James is seated at a table with a bank of microphones and hosting a gaggle of reporters.
One of the reporters asks LeBron if the retirement rumors are true and what he plans next.
James teases the viewing audience by leaning forward to answer, and then the clip abruptly ends.
Up until this past season, James had mentioned that he wanted to play long enough to suit up alongside his sons.
The Lakers made that happen by drafting Bronny James in 2024 and the two shared the court this year a few times.
What’s painfully obvious is that the Lakers don’t seem to be going anywhere, even with the addition of Luka Doncic in February.
As tantalizing as they are on paper, James and Doncic couldn’t get LA past the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs.
James will turn 41 in December, and Father Time will eventually catch up to him.
However, despite the cliffhanger in his video, fans should expect James to return to the court again this season.
