Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander joins three Hall of Famers with another 30-point game

The MVP and Hamilton, Ont., native put on another impressive showcase in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to give his Oklahoma City Thunder a 3-2 lead in the series over the Pacers.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished the game with 31 points and 10 assists in a 120-109 win. The performance was his 15th 30-point game in this post-season run, something only three players had ever done before.

Those three players? Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon and Kobe Bryant.

Beyond joining that exclusive club, Gilgeous-Alexander also set an NBA record of his own by being the first player to ever score at least 30 points in 10 straight home playoff games.

He’s now up to 162 points through the first five games of the series, the fourth most by any player in their first five finals games.

Expect Gilgeous-Alexander to keep knocking down records with the championship now within his grasp.
