Analyst Reveals What To Expect From Jaire Alexander With Ravens

Jaire Alexander is joining a Baltimore Ravens team that should already have a big chip on its shoulder after another disappointing playoff outing last season.

He could help them get over the hump, because as NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell pointed out, the defensive back is a very productive player when he’s healthy.

“He’s a very good corner when he’s at his best. Probably in that top 10, maybe top 5 or 6,” Cosell said, via “The Ross Tucker Podcast.”

Alexander’s talents aren’t in doubt.

Unfortunately, he’s had issues with injuries, which is part of the reason the Green Bay Packers released him.

They tried to trade him, but given his hefty salary, there were no takers.

Then, when he couldn’t agree to a restructured deal, the Packers decided to move on.

Then again, the lack of trade interest had nothing to do with his talent, and he didn’t need much time to land on his feet.

Alexander is a true ballhawk and shutdown corner, and at 28 years old he’s still young enough to be a contributor for the foreseeable future.

There have also been some character issues in the past, so he should be extremely motivated to prove that he’s still one of the best players at his position.

The Ravens didn’t need much help, but Alexander is a low-risk/high-reward pickup, and if he manages to stay on the field, he could be one of the most impactful moves of the offseason.
