It takes a lot to make it to the NFL, but it’s even harder to have a long and successful career.
That’s why C.J. Mosley should be very proud of what he accomplished.

The news comes on Mosley’s 33rd birthday.
The New York Jets released him this offseason and he did not sign with another team.
He missed most of last season with neck and toe injuries.
After a dominant first five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, the Jets signed him to a five-year, $85 million contract in 2019.
Unfortunately, he missed plenty of time under that contract, first due to injuries and then by opting out of the 2020 campaign during the pandemic.
Mosley didn’t need much time to pick up where he left off, as he had 168, 158 and 152 combined tackles in the next three years, earning a second-team All-Pro selection.
He was also selected to five Pro Bowls, four with the Ravens, including as a rookie.
Baltimore took him with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Alabama, and he leaves the league with almost 1,100 tackles, 12 sacks, 12 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately, injuries didn’t allow him to walk away with a strong final season, but not many players get the privilege of retiring on their own terms.
