Cooper Flagg will become a member of the Dallas Mavericks in only a few days, and the future looks very bright for him.
Everyone will be paying close attention to his rookie season because he is already being compared to former NBA icons.
According to Tim MacMahon, Dallas head coach Jason Kidd sees a lot of Grant Hill in Flagg and his style.
“I’m told Jason Kidd sees shades of another Duke guy in Cooper Flagg, a guy who J-Kidd shared the Rookie of the Year Award with, Grant Hill… Cooper Flagg is really gonna have a chance, especially early in the season when Kyrie Irving’s out, to play a point forward type of game. He’s gonna have the ball in his hands a lot, and J-Kidd thinks he can facilitate,” said MacMahon, via MFFL NATION.

The second part of that statement is going to make a lot of Dallas fans happy, because it promises that they’ll see a ton of Flagg during his first season.
Some rookies don’t enjoy much time on the court, but it sounds like Flagg will be a crucial part of the Mavericks’ plans in 2025-26.
Dallas is going to miss Kyrie Irving as he recovers from his serious injury, but they will use the time without him as a chance to get the most out of Flagg.
He will get plenty of time to adjust to the NBA and find his footing.
That means when Irving finally does return, he could be in prime condition and ready to push his team into the playoffs.
Being compared to Hill is a great thing for Flagg, but it shows how high expectations are.
Is he about to have one of the best rookie seasons ever?
Kidd and his staff will clearly give him plenty of time to shine.
