The Portland Trail Blazers are entering the offseason with flexibility and a clear willingness to make significant roster changes.
The franchise has been exploring major moves for months, with their frontcourt situation becoming a primary focus as they weigh different directions for the future.
Multiple league sources indicate Portland has been open to trading either of its centers since last year’s deadline.
NBA insider Brett Siegel reports that both big men remain active topics in ongoing discussions around the league.
“Much like Boston, the Blazers will continue to navigate the offseason with open arms regarding further trade discussions. Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams III have been made available in trade talks dating back to before this past season’s trade deadline, sources said,” Siegel shared, per NBA Central.

Robert Williams III contributed 5.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game during the 2024-25 season while shooting an efficient 64.1% from the field.
Ayton posted more substantial production, averaging 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and a 56.6% shooting percentage.
Portland’s front office, led by GM Joe Cronin, reportedly seeks draft capital or young wings in return.
The goal centers on building around a core featuring Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, and Donovan Clingan.
The franchise delivered a stunning move by acquiring Jrue Holiday from the Boston Celtics.
With the Western Conference remaining highly competitive and Portland positioned between rebuilding and competing, this summer’s decisions could shape the franchise’s direction for years ahead.
The Trail Blazers appear committed to exploring every avenue as they navigate this crucial offseason period.
