The Nets Set An NBA Record During The Draft

The Brooklyn Nets were all over the NBA draft on Wednesday night, and they quite literally made history with their choices.

According to Legion Hoops, the Nets set a record with five first-round picks.

That has simply never been done before, but was it really the right move for this struggling team?

Walking into night one of the draft, the Nets had five picks and a lot of options.

Many people thought they’d bundle together at least a few of the draft picks and turn them into trades that would immediately send them an established player, someone they could build a team around.

Instead, the Nets shocked many when they elected to actually choose rookies for their lineup.

Those five players were Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, Drake Powell, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf.

Will these five young men be the future faces of the franchise?

Wednesday night’s moves were historic, but also a bit confusing.

Does this mean the Nets will remain in rebuilding mode when some analysts predicted they’d try to acquire win-now talent?

There are even more question marks around the team because they could or could not be making trades during the summer.

In short, no one is quite sure what is going on with the Nets, but they should be proud of themselves for making history.

Will all of this impact how they play next year, or will they continue to stay toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings?

How often will we see these rookies play in 2025-26?
