Draymond Green Reveals How Cooper Flagg Fits In Today’s NBA

The Dallas Mavericks just picked up one of the most electrifying draft prospects in recent NBA history.

Cooper Flagg received a lot of praise during his time at Duke, and when he declared for the draft, he was seemingly a lock to go No. 1 overall.

The draft lottery fell the Mavericks’ way, and they somehow found a way to land Flagg, adding to the impressive roster they’ve been building.

Flagg joins Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson, a team that’s loaded with veteran talent that can show him a thing or two about how to win in this league.

With such a stacked team as it is, Draymond Green highlighted where he thinks Flagg will be the most effective in a recent episode of his podcast with Baron Davis.

“I think Cooper Flagg is a four, not a three,” Green said.

In Green’s mind, Flagg can use his strength and athleticism in the paint rather than outside the arc, allowing him to play the four in Dallas.

The Mavericks, of course, haven’t announced how they’ll utilize their new talent, but fans are anxiously awaiting to see what they’ll do with him.

Putting Flagg at the four would indicate that Davis will play center, which he hasn’t necessarily done a lot of for the Mavericks.

This team might sacrifice a bit of size for overall talent and athleticism.

With this in mind, and if Flagg plays as well as he’s projected, it’ll be well worth it.

The Western Conference is loaded with strong talent, but it will be interesting to see how the Mavericks size up against their opponents with this new-look lineup.
