Jets’ Breece Hall makes feelings about Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers clear

Numerous stories shared since late 2024 have suggested that current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson “never saw eye-to-eye” and “weren’t exactly the best of friends” as the Jets struggled through a 5-12 season with Rodgers in the lineup.

During an appearance on the latest edition of the “Get Got Pod with Marshawn Lynch & Mike Robinson” program, Jets running back Breece Hall touched upon his working relationship with Rodgers that lasted from the spring of 2023 through this past January.

“Very misunderstood person,” Hall said about Rodgers, per Troy Montgomery of Steelers Depot. “Great dude. Comes off to people a certain way, but once you really get to know him, you realize how good of a person he is. Last year, when you’re losing games, the blame gets put on the faces of the team.”

Shortly after it became clear that the new Jets regime would officially part ways with Rodgers at the start of the current league year, Gang Green players such as running back Isaiah Davis and linebacker Quincy Williams spoke highly of the future Hall of Famer. Back in January, some members of the Jets locker room publicly campaigned for the club to give Rodgers another year to right the ship.

More recently, NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated noted that Rodgers’ teammates “mostly have loved him over the years.” Hall seems to be one of those individuals.

“When you’re losing,” Hall continued, “somebody has to get let go, but what people don’t realize is, when stuff is crazy organizationally, then it’s hard for players to have stability and win games. …I love Aaron. Me and him still have a great relationship to this day. That’s my guy.”

Thus far, Rodgers reportedly has “pleasantly surprised” Steelers players and coaches with how he impacted the team’s “vibe” during mandatory minicamp practices. Eventually, Rodgers and the Steelers will begin preparing for their Week 1 game at none other than the Jets that will take place on Sept. 7.

“We owe the Steelers one,” Hall said in reference to the Jets’ 37-15 loss to Pittsburgh this past October, per Matthew Marczi of Steelers Depot. “They got us last year. I’ve got to get Aaron. I’ve got to get Aaron, play him first game.”
