Knicks Will Reportedly ‘Check In’ On Longtime Celtics Veteran

The New York Knicks are still deciding what their future will look like.

They aren’t even sure who their coach will be next season, let alone what the roster will look like.

In a new report, Ian Begley said the Knicks have options and they are looking at all of them.

That includes thinking about pursuing one of the Boston Celtics’ biggest stars.

“I think the Knicks will also at least check in on Horford’s situation in Boston,” Begley said, via NBACentral.

Last season, Horford posted an average of 9.0 points and 6.2 rebounds on 42.3 percent from the field.

He has been a big part of the Celtics over the last few years and helped them win a championship in 2024.

Horford has been in the league for 18 seasons now and is 39 years old.

How much longer does he have in the NBA, and how much would the Knicks be willing to put into him?

He could provide a lot of help as a starter or off the bench, but it’s not clear how long they’d have him for.

The Knicks are obviously trying to figure out a lot right now, including who will lead them both on and off the court.

Horford could be part of their success next season, but they will need to do more than just add him.

They have plenty of talent, but it hasn’t helped them reach their ultimate goal, at least not yet.

Perhaps adding a champion will help them earn a title?

How seriously will New York pursue Horford, and what could he bring to the team?
