MANILA, Philippines — Lyann De Guzman picked up where she left off as she unleashed 24 points to complete Nxled’s 25-20, 26-28, 27-25, 25-22 upset of Choco Mucho in the PVL on Tour on Sunday night at Batangas City Sports Center.

Following a sensational 21-point debut, De Guzman sustained her fine form with 20 kills, three aces, including the match-winner, and a block to complete as the Chameleons completed a two-game sweep of their Batangas stop to lead Pool A.

The fourth overall pick out of Ateneo also had 12 excellent receptions and nine digs.

“She’s very amazing. I was the one to choose her first. She showed everyone [her] a huge leadership. That’s super important. I hope she keeps going,” said Nxled coach Ettore Guidetti.

Team captain and hometown bet Chiara Permentilla had another clutch performance as she scored nine of her 19 points in the third set to help regain the lead.

“It was a collective effort for everyone. Whoever is inside, we know that we can rely on them. And we wanted to fight and win for everyone,” said Permentilla, who also had 19 excellent receptions

Nxled was threatened to be dragged to another five-setter when Royse Tubino blocked De Guzman for a 22-21 Choco Mucho lead. But a costly service error by Aduke Ogunsanya, followed by May Ann Nuique’s block on Isa Molde put the Chameleos back on top, 23-22.

Permentilla sent Nxled to match point with a clutch spike before De Guzman nailed the game-winning ace.

Jov Fernandez also stepped up with 14 points. Jaja Maraguinot had 15 excellent sets, while libero Rachel Jorvina had 20 digs.

Nxled takes a long break before gunning for its third win against Galeries (0-2) on July 15 at FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Molde carried the Flying Titans with 16 points, 13 receptions, and nine digs. Ogunsanya had 10 points including three blocks, while Tubino and Mean Mendrez added nine points each.

Captain Des Cheng only played in the first two sets and scored six, anchoring Choco Mucho’s second set comeback to tie the game at one set apiece.

Choco Mucho, which dropped to 1-1, is headed to Ilagan City, facing Farm Fresh and PLDT on July 12 and 13, respectively.
