Bruins sign Morgan Geekie to six-year extension

The Bruins signed the forward to a six-year, $33-million contract extension on Sunday, the team announced.

Geekie, 26, has spent the past two seasons with the Bruins after signing as a free agent on July 1, 2023. His two-year, $4-million contract expired this summer, making him a restricted free agent.

The six-foot-three, 208-pound centre posted career bests in goals (33), assists (24) and points over a career-high 77 games this past season.

Originally drafted 67th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2017, Geekie appeared in 38 games over two seasons with the club before being selected by the Seattle Kraken in the 2021 Expansion Draft. He spent two seasons in Seattle before joining the Bruins.

The Strathclair, Man., native has totalled 159 points (72 goals and 87 assists) in 333 career NHL games with the Bruins, Kraken and Hurricanes.
