Insider Reveals Potential Injury Timeline For Jaren Jackson Jr.

It’s been quite the week for Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies.

First, he received a massive payday from his team when they extended him for a whopping $240 million.

But then Jackson got some horrible news: he injured his toe and would need surgery.

Speaking on ESPN about Jackson’s injury, Brian Windhorst revealed the timeline for a return.

“They did not announce a timeline, however, typically, a turf toe injury, like we just saw Darius Garland have turf toe surgery, is a 4-5 month recovery,” Windhorst said, per Legion Hoops.

Four to five months is a very long time, and it means that Jackson will likely miss the start of next season.

This is, of course, very bad news for the Grizzlies because they want Jackson’s support on both ends of the court.

Last season, he produced 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.

He is a crucial part of their lineup, and success without him doesn’t seem possible.

This injury comes at the worst time because Jackson just agreed to his new deal, and the Grizzlies are eager to have a strong start to 2025-26.

The Western Conference is getting better, and the competition will be fierce right away.

The team has suffered through many injuries over the last few years, and that has repeatedly thrown them into deep holes that are hard to climb out of.

Hopefully, Jackson recovers quickly and only misses a few games at the very start of the season.

If he doesn’t, the Grizzlies will need to make plans without him because they can’t begin 2025-26 on the wrong foot.
