TNT clearly has Rain or Shine on the ropes, and the Tropang 5G know that they need to deal the knockout punch on the Elasto Painters as soon as they can to give their Grand Slam dreams the best shot possible.
With three chances to end their best-of-seven series for a place in the Finals of the PBA Philippine Cup, there’s no doubt that TNT would like to take the first one that’s available, at 5 p.m. at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday, for doing that would allow the team to mend a lot of aching bodies.
The Tropang 5G will take a 3-1 into Game 5, but they will have several stars playing less than 100 percent, stars like Calvin Oftana, who twisted both his ankles in separate stages of a 108-92 win in the fourth game on Wednesday.

MANILA, Philippines—For Barangay Ginebra forward Jamie Malonzo, the Gin Kings’ problem in their PBA Philippine Cup semifinals Game 4 loss was clear as day.
Instead of going up 3-1 in the best-of-seven semifinals series, Ginebra had its defense exploited by the energized Beermen en route to a tied best-of-seven series.
“They did a good job and I think we could’ve done better. We let them score 50 in the first half which wasn’t our goal. We wanted it a bit lower,” said Malonzo after the 102-87 loss on Wednesday.

MANILA, Philippines—TNT big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser had one thing in mind entering Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.
In a quest to go up 3-1 over Rain or Shine in the best-of-seven affair, Ganuelas-Rosser vowed to be tougher for the Tropang 5G.
Ganuelas-Rosser did just that to push the squad on the cusp of their third straight Finals appearance.
