It’s the Toronto Blue Jays‘ league right now, and everybody else just happens to be playing in it. The hottest team in baseball kept it rolling on Friday night with a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Angels, not only extending their winning streak to six consecutive games, but also their American League East lead to two games over the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays.
Friday’s win was especially wild given the way it ended.
Following a leadoff walk by Nathan Lukes in the bottom of the 10th inning to put runners on first and second, third baseman Ernie Clement was called on to drop a sacrifice bunt to move the winning run to third base.
It ended up working out better than anybody could have possibly anticipated.
