It’s the dawn of a new era for the Tennessee Titans.
Then again, even though they will have a first-year player under center, they still need their veterans to lead the way.
And lead has Calvin Ridley done.
The veteran wideout has already developed a strong chemistry with Cam Ward.
More importantly, he also wants to take all young wide receivers under his wing and help them succeed.
In a recent clip shared by SleeperTitans on X, the No. 1 pick gushed about Ridley’s impact and abilities:
“That boy there? Different. How he move, everything. That boy, he ain’t selfish either, he wants the rookies to do better than him,” Ward said of Ridley.

There was a time when Ridley was one of the most underrated pass-catchers in the game.
He might no longer be at the top of his game, but he’s been there and done that, so he can certainly make Ward’s life easier in his first year in the league.
The Titans still need to add more pieces to even think about getting back to playoff contention.
Getting Ward was only the first step in their rebuild, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them part ways with some of their veterans at some point in the season, including Ridley.
But if Ward turns out to be as good as advertised and dominates right out of the gate, Ridley could be in for a throwback season.
