Manny Machado became the fifth active member of the 2,000-hit club in Major League Baseball by rapping a single through the hole between shortstop and third base. 357 of his 2,001 hits have gone for home runs, which is good for fourth-most amongst active players, but his glove has been almost as good as hit bat in his career with two Gold Golves and one Platinum Glove.
