Joe Burrow nixed an enormous purchase after his home was burglarized last season.
In season two of Netflix’s “Quarterback,” released on Tuesday, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback revealed that he canceled plans to purchase a replica Batmobile for $3M after the robbery.
Burrow first told Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins he had bought the Batmobile during a December episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North” and seemed giddy about the purchase. His excitement waned after the break-in.
“I didn’t end up getting the Batmobile because, you know, I just had other things I wanted to deal with at that point,” Burrow said (h/t ESPN’s Ben Baby).
The show also revealed the 28-year-old QB considered moving from his mansion.
“We’ll see if I end up moving or not,” Burrow told former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. “Now the whole world knows where I live now. But that hasn’t been very fun to deal with.”
According to Baby, legal records show Burrow hasn’t sold his house, which he purchased for $7.5M in July 2023, just before signing a five-year, $275M contract extension.
The robbery occurred during the Bengals’ road game against the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 9, 2024.
In February, investigators told Karin Johnson of WLWT-TV in Cincinnati the thieves stole nearly $300K worth of designer luggage, glasses, watches and jewelry.
