Shares of AMD rose 1.8% following its Q1 2025 results on May 6 due to stronger-than-expected revenue and optimism around AI growth despite export curbs to China. The company reported a 36% year-over-year increase in total revenue to $7.4 billion, surpassing analyst expectations, with data center sales rising 57% to $3.7 billion, also above estimates. AMD also beat earnings estimates, posting an adjusted EPS of $0.96. Additionally, its Q2 revenue forecast of approximately $7.4 billion (±$300 million) topped Wall Street projections, driven in part by accelerated chip purchases ahead of U.S. export restrictions.

Analysts’ consensus view on Advanced Micro Devices stock remains moderately optimistic, with a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Out of 42 analysts covering the stock, 28 recommend a “Strong Buy,” two “Moderate Buys,” and 12 “Holds.” As of writing, the stock is trading above the average analyst price target of $134.86.
