Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Honest Admission About His Future

The NBA offseason continues to fuel speculation around superstar movement, with Giannis Antetokounmpo emerging as the latest name generating trade discussions.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ recent decision to part ways with Damian Lillard has only intensified questions about the franchise’s direction and whether their cornerstone player might consider a change of scenery.

Recent comments from the two-time MVP have provided insight into potential destinations should he decide to leave Milwaukee.

“A lot of people have tried to convince me, try to convince me to go and play there [New York] and stuff,” Antetokounmpo told popular streamer iShowSpeed.

The New York Knicks have long been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Antetokounmpo, particularly after reports surfaced in May suggesting he was open-minded about departing Milwaukee.

The organization continues monitoring the situation, waiting to see if Antetokounmpo commits long-term to the Bucks.

Financial considerations remain significant in any potential move.

Antetokounmpo has three years remaining on his $175 million contract, including a player option in the final year. He’s scheduled to earn $54 million during the 2025-26 season alone.

When iShowSpeed pressed him about staying in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo’s response lacked conviction.

“Probably, probably. We’ll see, we’ll see,” he said.

The uncertainty offers little comfort to Bucks fans while keeping hope alive for organizations like the Knicks.

Since joining Milwaukee in 2013, Antetokounmpo has developed into one of the league’s premier talents.

His accolades include Rookie of the Year honors in 2013-14, Defensive Player of the Year recognition in 2019-20, two MVP awards, and Finals MVP honors in 2021 after leading the Bucks past the Phoenix Suns in six games.
