Blue Jays’ Alek Manoah slated to pitch in rehab game on Monday

Alek Manoah‘s return to the Blue Jays’ mound seems within reach.

The right-hander is slated to pitch in a rehab game on Monday in the Florida Complex League, according to manager John Schneider.

After making the start, Manoah’s 30-day rehab clock will begin, making a return to the major league mound possible in mid-to-late August.

Manoah underwent UCL reconstruction last season after a five-game return to the big leagues, in which he posted a 3.70 ERA over 24.1 innings.

The 30-year-old’s progression to pitching a rehab game comes after he successfully threw a two-inning live batting practice session on Tuesday.

Manoah finished as a Cy Young Award runner-up in 2022 before struggling through 2023, where he shuttled between the minor and major levels.

Since his dominant 2022 season, Manoah has only thrown 111.2 innings for the Blue Jays and he holds a 5.40 ERA.
