Fans of the Indiana Pacers loved Myles Turner, and he enjoyed performing for them.
But the front office just let Turner walk away, and now he is about to start playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
In a press conference with his new team, Turner talked about his recent history in the NBA and made it clear that he wants to keep competing at a high level.
“For me, it was ultimately about just staying competitive. Two years ago, got to the Eastern Conference Finals. Last year, we got to the Finals. Being there, being part of winning basketball, it just changed my entire perspective on this league. I saw a chance to remain competitive here. Winning is a top priority here. We’re just aligned with our visions,” Turner said, per Evan Sidery.

This statement from Turner makes Indiana’s choice to let him go even more perplexing.
Turner didn’t want to leave, and he was hoping to help the Pacers return to the NBA Finals next season.
But the Pacers didn’t give him the right deal, and the Bucks did.
He saw a chance to make more money and keep competing, so the choice was obvious.
In 2024-25, he posted an average of 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds and was a crucial part of their run through the playoffs.
After years of trade rumors, many people believed that Turner had earned a permanent spot on the roster.
They thought the Pacers would do anything needed to keep him around, but that was not the case.
Turner has had a taste of playing well in the postseason and wants more.
This could be a huge blessing for the Bucks, who are attempting to become one of the best teams in the East again.
Just like he was with the Bucks, Turner could be a vital part of their plans moving forward and might help them reach their next level.
