The Golden State Warriors can’t seem to make up their minds about Jonathan Kuminga.
There have been numerous rumors about him leaving the team, but weeks into the offseason, Kuminga is still a part of the roster.
A new statement from Golden State’s general manager, Mike Dunleavy Jr., makes it clear that the Warriors want to keep Kuminga around.
“When Steph went down he stepped up and that was admirable from [Jonathan Kuminga’s] standpoint and that’s a big reason why we wanna bring him back,” Dunleavy said, via TheWarriorsTalk.

Dunleavy believes that Kuminga proved his worth when Steph Curry was hurt at the end of last season.
After an entire season of riding the bench often, Kuminga was prepared to step up and show what he was capable of.
He was eager to help his team, and that counts for something, according to Dunleavy.
However, if that’s the case, why has there been so much speculation about Kuminga and his future with the Warriors?
If they really do value him this much, why have there been persistent rumors of him leaving?
It feels like Kuminga will stick around with Golden State next season.
The market doesn’t seem hungry for him, and he may still be in a Warriors’ jersey when 2025-26 kicks off.
Dunleavy is a big fan of him, but that doesn’t guarantee that Kuminga will get more minutes in the new year.
Recent comments from him have made it obvious that he wants to do more for the team, but will he get his wish with Golden State?
