Could Ravens still trade TE Mark Andrews before or during 2025 season?

Baltimore Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews became the subject of trade rumors this past winter, in part because he, Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar are all on track to become free agents in March 2026.

Andrews remained with the Ravens and should report for the start of training camp on July 22. For a piece published on Tuesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic indicated there is still a possibility that Andrews could finish the upcoming season with a different club.

“The Ravens received trade interest in Andrews during the offseason, but no team matched Baltimore’s asking price,” Zrebiec wrote. “Ravens decision-makers, and Baltimore’s franchise quarterback, believe they are a better team with Andrews on the field. However, what happens this summer if a team loses its starting tight end to an injury and calls the Ravens with a legitimate offer for Andrews? And would Andrews welcome a move elsewhere if he concludes that Likely is in Baltimore’s long-term plans and he isn’t, and his acquiring team is willing to give him an extension?”

Andrews suffered a serious left ankle injury
in November 2023, will turn 30 years old in September and could decide that he wants a change of scenery after what happened this past January. During Baltimore’s 27-25 divisional-round playoff loss at the Buffalo Bills, he lost a fumble in the fourth quarter and then dropped a pass on what should’ve become a game-tying two-point conversion play with 1:33 remaining in regulation.

“Due to his recent playoff struggles, Andrews has become a polarizing player among fans,” Zrebiec added.

That said, ESPN stats show that Andrews finished the 2024 regular season with a team-best 11 touchdown receptions. In June, Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson strongly suggested he wants the club to hold onto Andrews as Jackson pursues the first Super Bowl appearance of his career.

As of Tuesday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Ravens, Bills and Philadelphia Eagles tied as the betting favorites at +650 odds to win Super Bowl LX. Such information shows why Baltimore shouldn’t want to weaken its offense this summer unless Andrews requests a trade.
