The Houston Rockets made the biggest move of the offseason recently when they acquired Kevin Durant.
Obviously, Durant is one of the best players in the league and could provide the Rockets with exactly what they have been missing.
According to NBA icon Dwyane Wade, everyone won in the Durant deal.
“Houston got KD. They got the scorer that they wanted. They got the big-shot maker, the big player. When they get to that Western Conference Finals, possibly, they got a guy that they know can put us where we need to be. That organization, obviously, has somewhere they are trying to go, and they are trying to go right now. That’s why you make the move to go get somebody you feel coud put you where you want to be right now and still keep a lot of your core,” Wade said, via AaronPKP on X.

Wade feels that this trade made sense and the Rockets were smart to pursue it aggressively.
In an instant, the team became much better, much more competitive, and much more menacing in the postseason.
That’s a major part of signing Durant: the Rockets want to be better in the playoffs.
They had a great regular season in 2024-25 but they couldn’t keep it up in the postseason.
Durant has so much experience in the playoffs and could lead them.
The Rockets have been steadily getting better over the last few years, but they know they haven’t yet reached their peak.
They believe that Durant could be the boost that helps them evolve and achieve more.
This is a big swing by Houston, and it could pay off handsomely.
Wade thinks it will, and believes the Rockets were wise to make it happen.
