Cincinnati Bengals fans breathed a collective sigh of relief when the team selected Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Bengals hadn’t had stability at the quarterback position in years, and even when they had a decent QB, the team couldn’t find a way to be a consistent threat in the AFC.
That has all changed with Burrow at the helm, as the Bengals are now viewed as one of the teams to beat in the AFC.
Burrow’s legacy has already been cemented as one of the greatest Bengals quarterbacks of all time, and he could be the best by the time his career is over, especially if he wins at least one Super Bowl during his tenure.
Former player-turned-analyst Harry Douglas talked about this in a recent segment of the “Freddie and Harry” show, talking about Burrow’s traits that make him a unique player and one of the best in the league.
“Joe Burrow plays QB from the pocket better than anyone in the NFL,” Douglas said.

Pocket passers are somewhat rare in today’s NFL, especially pure pocket passers.
Players like Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers, some of the oldest QBs in the league, are generally defined as pocket passers, but many of the young players elect to scramble and get out of the pocket, trying to make something happen.
Burrow is certainly capable of that, as fans have seen on countless occasions, but he can also stay cool, calm, and collected, waiting for the right read to play out and make the right decision.
Will this strong decision-making help Burrow and the Bengals take the next step and get back to the Super Bowl in 2025?
