Stats Show How Dominant Quinnen Williams Has Been Since 2022

The New York Jets haven’t been the most competitive team in the league for the past decade or so.

However, they can brag about having one of the most consistent defenses, at least for the most part.

Notably, plenty of that has to do with Quinnen Williams.

As shown by PFF on X, Williams has been a force to be reckoned with.

He ranks second in pressures (176) and third in sacks (23.5) in the entire league since 2022.

That makes him the No. 44 player on PFF rankings and the fourth-best defensive lineman ahead of this season.

This year will be crucial for the Jets.

Aaron Glenn will take the reins, and having another defensive-minded head coach will only do wonders for Williams and that unit.

The defense regressed vastly once the team fired Robert Saleh and played a musical chairs game of defensive assistants embracing bigger roles.

Glenn will take a no-nonsense approach in New York, and, being a former player himself, he will know how to communicate and bring the best out of his players.

The Jets have fallen short of playoff contention mostly because of their struggles at the quarterback position, and that will continue to be a bit of a question mark now that Justin Fields will take the reins of the offense.

That will only make Quinnen Williams and the defense all the more important.

That unit will have to hold down the fort and put Fields and the offense in a position to succeed, and that will be way easier said than done.
