The grudge match to end all grudge matches has arrived, as after years of talk, Paul Gallen and Sonny Bill Williams finally settle their differences in the boxing ring on Wednesday night.
Gallen hasn’t fought since defeating fellow former NRL great Justin Hodges in November 2022 to improve his professional career record to 15-1-2, while Williams, a rugby league icon and two-time World Cup winner with the All Blacks, was defeated by Mark Hunt in his first ever loss also in 2022 in his last appearance.
They will do battle over eight two-minute rounds after weeks of trash talk.
The pair’s fight will be held at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, with the card beginning at 6pm (AEST).
The night will feature six fights, with other competitors including Anthony Mundine’s son Rahim. Kris Terzievski and Troy Bilcher will also slug it out for the WBA Oceania and WBC Continental bridgerweight titles.
The Gallen vs Williams fight will begin at approximately 10pm (AEST), though that is dependent on the length of the previous five bouts.
