Flames re-sign Rory Kerins, Yan Kuznetsov and Jeremie Poirier


The Calgary Flames re-signed a trio of restricted free agents Thursday.

Centre Rory Kerins and defenceman Jeremie Poirier signed one-year, two-way contracts worth $775,000, while defenceman Yan Kuznetsov agreed to a two-year, two-way contract with an AAV of $812,500.

Kuznetsov’s deal becomes a one-way contract in the second year.

Kerins made his NHL debut this past season and had four assists in five games with the Flames. He spent the majority of the season with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers and recorded 61 points (33 goals and 28 assists) in 63 games.

The 23-year-old from Caledon, Ont., was drafted in the sixth round, 174th overall, by the Flames in 2020.

Poirier, 23, had 42 points (five goals and 37 assists) in 71 games with the Wranglers.

The Flames selected the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que., native in the third round, 72nd overall, in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Kuznetsov registered 21 points (six goals and 15 assists) in 72 games with the Wranglers.

He was drafted in the second round, 50th overall, by Calgary in 2020.

The 23-year-old from Murmansk, Russia, has appeared in one game with the Flames, making his NHL debut on Jan. 9, 2024.
