If the New York Knicks hope to build upon the success they found in 2024-25, they will need Josh Hart to be healthy.
Hart has become a crucial part of the team over the last several seasons, and they want him back and at 100 percent.
On Wednesday, the team announced that Hart underwent a procedure to fix a problem with his right ring finger.
The good news is that he is expected to be in good shape and ready to play soon.
“Josh Hart underwent a procedure to his right ring finger due to an injury sustained in the playoffs. He will resume basketball activities later in the summer,” Knicks PR posted on X.

In 2024-25, Hart averaged 13.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, shooting 52.5 percent from the field.
It’s also worth noting that Hart led the entire league with minutes played, putting up 37.6 per game.
Hart came to the Knicks in 2022-23 and quickly became one of the biggest stars in New York.
Although he may not score as much as Jalen Brunson or Karl-Anthony Towns, he is hugely consequential and also a vital part of the team’s culture and chemistry.
The Knicks seem on the verge of greatness.
They had another wonderful regular season, but ultimately fell short in the playoffs.
With some coaching and roster changes, fans are hoping that the Knicks can be even better next season, especially with the Eastern Conference feeling more wide open than ever before.
Of course, injuries could get in the way of their plans.
Thankfully, it sounds like Hart’s recovery will be quick, and he should be prepared to blast into 2025-26 in a few months.
The Knicks want all hands on deck next season because they have high expectations.
