San Miguel Beer moved on the cusp of regaining the PBA Philippine Cup title as a big fourth quarter from Jericho Cruz foiled TNT’s comeback for a 105-91 win and a commanding 3-1 lead on Sunday at SM Mall of Asia Arena.
HIGHLIGHTS: PBA Philippine Cup Finals Game 4 – San Miguel vs TNT
Cruz scored 15 of his 23 points in the last period, knocking down all of his three-point attempts, as the Beermen scuttled the Tropang 5G’s rally from 12 down in the third to put themselves one win shy of capturing the conference they have ruled for six of the last nine seasons.
CJ Perez caught fire late after a sluggish series that also sealed San Miguel’s triumph, which further endangered TNT’s hopes of a historic Grand Slam.
The Beermen will go for the crown on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jordan Heading also dropped 23 as he carried TNT back in the third behind his outside shooting. But the Tropang 5G couldn’t sustain their form in the final period and are now in the predicament of seeing their bid to sweep all three conferences go up in smoke.
TNT dropped three in a row after taking the controversial Game 1 when Mo Tautuaa’s dunk was nullified because of a basket interference.
Perez scored 16 points, June Mar Fajardo had 15 points and 12 rebounds on the night he was named Best Player of the Conference, Trollano put up a quiet 11 but still had some key moments in the third.
Meanwhile, Marcio Lassiter and Juami Tiongson showed some spurts of offensive brilliance with 10 and eight, respectively.
Poy Erram suited up for TNT after missing Game 3 with a sprained right ankle and had six points and four rebounds.
TNT started hot at 14-2, only to see San Miguel inch its way back to take the driver seat at halftime, 45-37, later ballooning it 62-50 in the third.
